History comes alive at the San Mateo County Historical Association. Visitors can discover the past through hands-on school programs, interactive exhibits and a wide range of events for both adults and families.

On February 14, explore Playing Grown-Up: Toys from the Harry P. Costa Collection. The new exhibit at the History Museum explores those toys from the past that allow children to mimic the activities of adults.
The San Mateo County Historial Association is pleased to announce that it has been reaccredited by the American Association of Museums. A mark of following professional standards, we have maintained our accreditation since 1972. Currently, less than 5% of museums in the United States are accredited.
