Welcome

Housed in the old San Mateo County Courthouse, the History Museum is where we preserve the rich history of the county, and make it accessible to the public. We offer educational activities for school children. We host exhibits detailing the history and development of the county. We dancer host a wide range of events concerning the history of the county – from tours of the old courthouse and other historic sites, to lectures, discussions and family programs.

The History Museum is a central source of information about the colorful history and development of the county.
