Sanchez Adobe School Program
1000 Linda Mar Boulevard, Pacifica
Program
Experience life on a Californio rancho. The program starts with a grounds tour where students discuss early uses of the land and natural resources during a grounds tour. A short video introduces the students to the people who lived at the site.
The hands-on history program features three activity stations. At the first station, students tour the house. They also participate in daily chores on a Californio rancho as they grind corn and rope a “cow.” The second station highlights the hide-and-tallow trade as students dip candles. At the third station, the kids discover how the Sanchez Adobe was made as they climb into the mud pit and make adobe bricks.
