About Us Mission History
The History Museum is located in the old San Mateo County Courthouse in downtown Redwood City. Built in 1910, the History Museum features professionally designed exhibit galleries and is, itself, a historical work of art. The museum approaches history in a unique, topical manner by looking at the county’s natural resources, transportation, suburban life, commerce, and the diversity of its people. The original goals of the Historical Association have expanded to include providing meaningful learning experiences for the county’s residents and guests with special attention devoted to children’s programs. We also offer an exciting calendar of public programs including workshops, lectures, family days, and preschool story time. We invite you to visit the History Museum, Woodside Store, and Sanchez Adobe.
