Browse the shelves of one of the largest used bookstores on the Peninsula. Encore Books on the Square sells gently used books. Find books by your favorite fiction authors or non-fiction subject.

Monthly Feature

Enjoy exploring the backroads? In June, Encore Books will feature books on travel and transportation. There will also be a special salute to dads for Father’s Day.

Fiction

Looking for a recent bestseller? Many paperbacks are available for $1.

Cookbooks

Looking for just the right recipe to impress your guests? Encore Books has a wide variety of cookbooks featuring old-time favorites, ethnic recipes and healthy alternatives.

Donate Books

Encore Books on the Square accepts donations of fiction and non-fiction (hardcovers and paperbacks), children's books, cookbooks, videos, DVDs, CDs and books on tape. The bookstore does not accept library discards, encyclopedias, magazines, textbooks and records.

Proceeds Support SMCHA

Proceeds from Encore Books on the Square support the ongoing activities of the San Mateo County Historical Association, including the interactive education programs.
